    Okay,

    so i made a file called gravityforms-nl_NL.mo

    placed it in the languages folder in the gravityforms plugin folder.

    Installed the nl_NL language file from wordpress itself for the website and it's now being shown in dutch.

    But the form is still in english. (error messages when fields are left empty)

  2. Are you sure all the strings are translated in your translation file? If they aren't all translated, then it will fallback to the default English.

    Only a couple are translated, those that matter on the website ( error messages in particular )

    the rest are kept standard.

  4. If the strings are translated they should be showing up. I would double check. If you are still having an issue we would need 1) your language file and 2) access to your web site to look at it. You can contact us via our contact us form if you need additional assistance.

  5. Hi Carl,

    Just found out the problem is Wordpress 3.01. In the new version you define a language on a different way.

    WP-CONFIG.php
    old version: define ('WPLANG', 'nl_NL');

    new version: define ('WPLANG', 'nl');

    When you use the old version in WP 3.01 you won't get WP in Dutch but Gravity Form will be in Dutch.

    When you use the new version WP will be in Dutch but GF won't

    So I thing GF needs a little update ;)

    Hope to see it very soon!

  7. Hi ArjanV

    I found out in the new version it's solved but......
    When U get an update of GF and do the update all your Language files are completely erased!!!

    Why don't they offer all available language files in each update? It's not that big at all?

  8. @stefsegers Currently we don't offer all languages because we don't have 100% completed translation files. We wouldn't feel comfortable providing users with partial language files.

    We do plan on including some built in language translation files, however that won't be until we are able to get 100% translations done by a translation service.

    Gravity Forms v1.5 does contain some language files with the install.

    Unfortunately the way WordPress handles plugin upgrades it overwrites all the files, including customizations such as user placed language files.
