We have a file upload set up in a form, the main folder is set to 777 and it creates new folders no issue, uploads the file, but when downloading, says i can't due to permissions. so i have to change the folder and its contents everytime someone uploads.

If the folder is being created and the file is being uploaded, then the plugin is doing what it's supposed to. If you're having permissions problems downloading the file from the server, that's entirely another issue. You may need to contact support at your web hosting company to figure out what's going on.
