Plugin Fatal Error Parse error

  1. I could use some help with activating this plugin on a site I am working on. I know this error is caused by running php4; I have tried everything I know how to get my version of WP on version 5. This site is being hosted by Godaddy; I have logged into godaddy and changed the hosting from php4 to php5. I could not find a .htaccess file so I created one and put it in my wp root. I copied some of the code from another wp install that I did that automatically created the htaccess file. I have then tried to add every variation of the AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5, AddType application/x-httpd-php5 and have had no luck whatsoever. Any help would be appreciated. By the way sometime when i add variations to the htaccess file I get an error:

  2. You are going to have to contact GoDaddy hosting support for this, usually changing the PHP version in GoDaddy is as simple as making a change in your hosting control panel... and then waiting. For some reason GoDaddy doesn't make changes right away, they take time to implement once the change has been made.
