Sending a message to a user-specified email address?

  1. Hope I make some sence here. My English isn´t too good. I´m basicly trying to create a form, from which anybody can send a message to an email address they specify. The message to the user specified address should include who sent it + the message itself.

The message to the admin should include who sent the message + to whom it was sent to + the message itself.

The idea behind this is that users can spread the word easilly to people they think might be interested about the site. I´ve allready setup the form, now I only have to figure out how to make it work. ;) Please say that it´spossible!

You can create a notification to admins. You could include All Fields in this notification to get you all the information you require.

You can then create a notification to user which would be TO the e-mail address put into the form, the message would go in the notification box through the proper merge tag (use the dropdown to select it). That should give you what you want.

  3. Hi,

I have gravity forms installed on the newest Finnish WP. I´m pretty sure I had the form as it should be about a month ago. But now somehow my "Price" and "Quantity" fields are in english. How can I translate them back to Finnish? Did the installing of WPML plugin do this?

I am not sure why those have changed, can you double check your wp-config language setting and the gravityforms/languages folder for the finnish MO file. The WPML plugin might have caused this issue. Any other form fields showing up incorrectly?

  5. Hi WP-config file seems to be ok. One thing caught me eye in the gravityforms/languages folder. This is what I have there: gravityforms.pot, gravityforms-pt_BR.mo, gravityforms-nl_NL.mo, gravityforms-nb_NO.mo, gravityforms-it_IT.mo, gravityforms-fr_FR.mo, gravityforms-fi.mo, gravityforms-de_DE.mo. In other words the Finnish one is does´nt have the" _FI" part. Is that an issue?

If most of the translation seems fine, then the naming of the file is probably not the cause. If all of the Gravity Forms translation isn't working, then maybe the naming is the issue.

  7. Hi, I was´nt sure what you ment at first, but now I think I got it. Everything is in English. For example I´ve got "Standard fields" Advanced fields" and so on. Nothing is translated. I´ve only input Finnish texts to the form (Field labels + descriptions....)

Can you try changing the name of the Finnish translation file then and see if things are changed? Also, you are using wp-config's language setting, correct?
