My theme (Dandelion - http://pexetothemes.com/demos/dandelion_wp) doesn't support short code on the home page. When I try to insert my form, the short code is returned, and not the form. What is the work-around?

Get another theme ;) or try the php function call embed method directly in the page template.

You could also discuss this with the theme developer to see what he would have to do to make his theme support shortcodes.
