    Hi

I want to develop a user registration system using the add-on, but only have the public release installed. Can I install Gravity Forms v1.5 RC4.2 on top of v1.4.5, or must I remove and re-install? I don't want to lose any data relating to forms built on v1.4.5

    Thanks.

  2. No, you can only have one installed on a site at the same time as they both use the same folder structure for automatic update purposes. If you install the beta you will not lose any data related to forms in 1.4.5.

Just don't use the Uninstall feature on the Gravity Forms Settings page itself, because it WILL remove all your data.

I'm a little unsure as to how to install the beta version in that case...do I just upload the new gravityforms folder to the plugins directory, overwritiing what's already there?

  4. Yes, if you install via FTP you can upload to the plugins directory and overwrite the existing gravityforms folder.

Or if you can install plugins via your WordPress dashboard you can go to your Plugins page, deactivate Gravity Forms, delete Gravity Forms, and then go to Plugins > Add New and upload the new plugin zipfile.
