I have a strange file called oldtemp.php in
    \wp-content\uploads\gravity_forms\2\tmp

What exactly are these folder for and should anything be stored there?

    From my provider:

    /wp-content/uploads/gravity_forms/2/tmp/oldtemp.php

Please review the malicious nature of these files and remove them.

  2. You can safely delete files inside the tmp folders.

Gravity Forms puts uploads in a temporary folder before they are moved. That's what is inside these tmp folders. They should be take care of automatically, but if they were not for some reason, you can safely delete them.

If it happens again (if files are left in the tmp folder) it would be worth investigating to find out why it's happening.
